The skin grows up in three acts.
Ninety days separate you from the camera. Use them to build, not to gamble. The face you want on the day is the one that hasn't been provoked into proving anything in the week before. Pick your type — the script is below.

Settle
Two zones, two strategies — calmly applied.

Sun Protection · Not a Suggestion Sunscreen does not stop at the jawline. Carry it down the neck, across the chest, over the back of every hand. Outdoors, wear a hat the way other people wear shoes — without thinking about it. Pigmentation is far easier to keep away than to chase out.
When to Call a Dermatologist Anything cystic. Anything that itches and won't quiet. Anything new that arrives and stays. Stop self-prescribing and book a specialist — you have weeks, not months, and a real one saves both.

§ BDIET
Less crash. More craft.
Three months of starvation will leave you with hollow cheeks, hair fall, and a shorter temper than you started with. Build the plate instead — protein anchors it, fibre fills it, fat makes it satisfying, carbs land lightly. Repeat until the wedding.
BUILD The Plate
  • A glass of warm water at sunrise, before anything else
  • Protein at every meal — eggs, paneer, dal, fish, Greek yoghurt
  • Two and a half to three litres of water through the day, never gulped
  • A small fistful of soaked almonds, daily
  • Coconut water two or three times a week — your electrolytes, free of sugar
  • Seeds in some meal: chia, flax, pumpkin, sunflower
  • Real fruit in real form — papaya for the gut, berries for the skin, pomegranate for iron
  • A bowl of fibre at every meal — sabzi, salad, sprouts, the boring greens
SHOWN The Door
  • Sodas and sparkling sugar
  • Coffee after lunch
  • Anything fried after sunset
  • Packaged juices and influencer smoothies
  • Detox teas, cleanse kits, anything that promises a number
  • Late-night cravings surrendered to
  • Restaurant experiments in the final fortnight
The Final Seven Eat what you've eaten before. Lower the salt. Move dinner earlier and lighter. If dairy bothers you, leave it alone. Drink water steadily, not in panic. The aim isn't weight — it's a settled stomach and a steady mood when the cameras come on.
Pills Come With Paperwork Vitamin C, glutathione, iron — these belong in a doctor's hand, not an Instagram caption. Get bloodwork. Get a prescription. Then take it. Skip every step before that and you'll spend the wedding week explaining a rash.
§ CHAIR
The scissors put themselves down at month four.
Hair on a wedding day is the result of a long, slow argument with discipline — won not by serums, but by leaving the hair alone for long enough that it remembers how to behave.

Strengthen
Earn the roots back.

  • Oil before every wash, twice a week

  • No tight ponytails, no tight buns

Window for Risk
The only month chemicals are safe.
  • Smoothening, botox, bonding — schedule them now
  • Four to six weeks out, never closer to the date
  • If it's your first time — a strand test, in writing, no shortcuts
  • The salon's reputation matters more than its price
  • One spa every fortnight, no more, no less
PHASE · III
Quiet Month
Nothing new. Truly nothing.
  • No new chemical, no new cut, no new colour you haven't tried
  • If you must colour — three to four weeks out, same brand as before
  • One light hydrating spa, the kind that doesn't change anything
  • The final five days belong to the hair as it already is
Five Questions, At The Salon Door Before you leave the chair, ask: when can I wash, with which shampoo, can I oil, can I heat-style, what should I avoid eating. Write the answers on your phone. The treatment fails the moment you forget one.
A silk pillowcase, oil before each wash, protein at every meal. The rest of hair is patience — and the willingness to do nothing dramatic for ninety days.
§ DMAKEUP
The makeup artist is half the wedding.
An artist arrives on the wedding day with the brief you gave them at the trial. Vague briefs become surprises. Specific briefs become photographs. Be specific.

Instagram is a portfolio. Google reviews are honest. Reddit is brutal. Read all three. A single repeated complaint is the future of your trial.

A Week Before Trial
Skin type, allergies, the medication you're on, the hour of the function, the colour of the lehenga, the weight of the jewellery. Three reference photos. Three photos of looks to ban.

Sit Through the Trial
Eight Weeks Out, Minimum
Look at your face in the sun, the mirror, the flash. Wait an hour. Touch your jaw. Hug someone. Anything that moves or rubs off — fix it now, not the morning of.
The Week Of No new facial. No retinol. No exfoliation. No experiments with under-eye creams. Sleep is the only ingredient that improves the base. Add nothing else.
§ EJEWELLERY
Jewellery is geometry, not desire.
A choker on the wrong neck shortens it. A heavy earring on a delicate jaw drags it down. Before you fall for a piece, fall for the proportions. The questions below come before the catalogue.
What is the actual shape of your face — oval, round, heart, square, diamond, long?
Is your forehead wider than your jaw, or the other way?
Are your cheekbones the loudest feature, or the quietest?
How does the length of your face compare to its width?
What does the blouse neckline ask the necklace to do — finish it, fill it, or stay out of its way?
Is the collarbone exposed, and does the dupatta sit straight or fall at an angle?
MATHS The Pairing Sums
  • A contoured jaw plus a heavy choker reads as costume
  • A soft, dewy face plus oversized earrings reads as lopsided
  • Sharp jewellery on a sharply-contoured face is doubling the volume
  • Treat each piece as adding or removing weight — the goal is sum, not stack
REHEARSE Try Before You Wear
  • Wear the heaviest piece for an hour, two weeks out
  • Test for metal allergy — even gold sometimes betrays
  • Sit through earrings for ninety minutes, then decide
  • Confidence on the day comes from rehearsal, not affirmation

What the camera actually catches.
Cortisol prints on the face faster than any cream can fix. Breakouts under the jaw, dullness across the cheek, eyes that look smaller — every wedding-week complaint is the same complaint. Protect the calm, and the rest follows.
